Ideally located in the centre of the beautiful coastal town of Donegal, the Abbey Hotel is right next to Donegal Castle. Comfortable guest bedrooms overlook Donegal Bay and the River Eske. The hotel restaurant, The Market House, has a menu of excellent international cuisine. The busy Abbey Bar offers regular entertainment with music almost every night of the year.

The Abbey have been using roomMaster for more than ten years where it sits at the heart of their reservations system. But, says Group Sales & Marketing Manager for Abbey & Central Hotels Catherine Doyle, it does so much more besides, including opening up access to new revenue streams.

When she took over as Group Sales & Marketing Manager, one of the first things Catherine did was to familiarise herself with the features of roomMaster property management system.

“I’ve worked with a few property management systems over the years and have found roomMaster offers a more complete solution to running the hotel,” says Catherine. “It serves its purpose completely, from housekeeping to rate management and everything in between roomMaster delivers. I find it suits our needs perfectly.”

For Catherine, the biggest benefit of roomMaster is its speed, coupled with its ease of use for her team members.

“Being able to easily check room availability with the correct rate at any precise moment is something that has shown us a significant increase in revenue,” she says.

“At the moment, we use roomMaster to handle all our bookings. I have recently purchased the channel manager that links roomMaster to the Availpro online reservation system.”

 

Catherine knows all the members of the roomMaster support desk personally and receives regular updates from them. “The support is good, but realistically I’ve never had serious need of them,” she says. “For me, roomMaster ticks all the boxes. “

The Abbey’s sister hotel the Central Hotel also relies on roomMaster for its day-to-day operations.

“We also use roomMaster in our other hotel the Central, because of this we are able to have one reservations office for both properties, and our reservations manager James Maguire has access to real time availability and reservation information as required.”
